Hell is looking for a way to break loose…

Jax lost the genetic lottery. Descended from Cain, the world's first murderer, he's plagued by a curse that demands violence in exchange for his happiness. He left everything behind, including the girl he loved, but thriving on the pain of others is lonely… And it's killing him.

After a series of heartbreaking losses, Samantha put rubber to pavement and headed for college as fast as her clunker could carry her. But she can't outrun her problems. When an attack at school drives her back home, she's thrown into the path of a past—and a guy—she's been trying to forget.

Sam strains Jax's control over his darkness, but running isn't an option this time. Someone—or, something—followed her home from school: a ruthless monster with a twisted plan centuries in the making. Forced together to survive, and fighting an attraction that could destroy them both, Jax and Sam must stop a killer bent on revenge.

Paranormal New Adult is not a genre that I generally read. I don't really know why. It might be because I love YA paranormal so much that I do not want to mix the genres. But when I read the synopsis for Ruined I knew I had to read it. It sounded amazing and sexy, and i was not disappointed.

What I think i loved most about this book was the narration. We got two characters POV, Samantha and Jax. And both of these characters were amazing to read because they were both dealing with feelings they knew they should not hvae, yet have no control over them.

Jax is part demon, Samantha  is the one person he cannot shake from his past. He loves her despite the fact that being near her rips him apart inside. The paid he feels when he is near her is excruciating yet he does it anyway. I will warn that this book is very much a romance. I loved that about this book but I know many don't. Although the paranormal aspect of this book is amazing and the world is well crafted, the intentions of both main characters are done for love. And I will add that this book is SEXY, and there were some scenes...woooo. Let me just say I was fanning myself after ;)

I will say that the mystery in this book was very well done. The bad guy was kept a secret until it was revealed and I am not one to be surprised but I have to say that I was. There are not many books that can keep in the dark but this one did and I am glad it did, because I do not know if I would have enjoyed the book as much if I had figured it out.

Ruined took me by surprise and made me realize that I love Paranormal New Adult and I should not shy away from this genre any more. And I thank Entangled Embrace for making me realize this!

Penelope is a witch, part of a secret society protecting humans from demon attacks. But when she was a child, a demon killed her parents—and stole her magic. Since then, she’s been pretending to be something she’s not, using her sister’s magic to hide her own loss, to prevent being sent away.

When she’s finally given the chance to join the elite demon-hunting force, Penelope thinks that will finally change. With her sister’s help, she can squeeze through the tests and get access to the information she needs to find "her" demon. To take back what was stolen.

Then she meets Carter. He’s cute, smart, and she can borrow his magic, too. He knows her secret—but he also has one of his own.

Suddenly, Penelope’s impossible quest becomes far more complicated. Because Carter’s not telling her everything, and it’s starting to seem like the demons have their own agenda…and they’re far too interested in her.

The moment I saw this cover I was intrigued. It is so bright and beautiful, but also very mysterious. This book took me by surprise. I honestly don't know why I am so hesitant to read books that are not published by the "Big 6" publishers, but I think after reading Salt, and a few others from Entangled Teen had officially unhooked me of that habit. Salt was way more than I expected and I am so glad I got the chance to review it.

Salt follows a young girl named Penelope who is a witch that hunts demons. Yet she is different then most, she cannot use her own power, she has to dawn power from her family. This fact makes it very hard for Penelope to fit in, especially when she wants to become an Enforcer, a group of people that hunt and expell demons into hell. But when she meets Carter, a young boy who just will not leave her alone, everything in her world changes and she discovers a family secret that will change her life forever.

I will admit that it took me a bit to get into this story, but I think that was because the author was setting up the world and characters. But once I was in, I was IN! I loved Penelope's character, she was so sassy and sarcastic, and honestly I just wanted to her to be real so that we could be friends. She is fiercely loyal to her family, even though at times they were incredibly frustrating. She is such a great heroine in YA because she is fiercely independent yet she is entirely comfortable getting help when she needs it. I seriously cannot wait for this series to continue so I can see where her character ends up.

Carter. What can I say about him. I loved him. He was such a great character and he complemented Penelope so well, especially at the beginning when their banter was at its best. Their chemistry was amazing to read on page, and their relationship felt very real to me. I cannot wait to see more of him in the rest of the series.

This book is perfect for fans of Buffy, Charmed and Supernatural. There is great adventure, mystery and humor in this book, so please give it a chance. it is worth every page.

Where You'll Find Me is a very intriguing story because I had no idea what to expect going in, and I will say this book took me by surprise. I did not expect the issues that came up in this book; teenage drinking, depression and the idea of euthanasia and if it is every okay.

When Hanley Helton discovers a boy living in her garage, she knows she should kick him out. But Nate is too charming to be dangerous. He just needs a place to get away, which Hanley understands. Her own escape methods (vodka, black hair dye, and pretending the past didn't happen) are more traditional, but who is she to judge?

Nate doesn't tell her why he's in her garage, and she doesn't tell him what she's running from. Soon, Hanley's trading her late-night escapades for all-night conversations and stolen kisses. But when Nate's recognized as the missing teen from the news, Hanley isn't sure which is worse: that she's harboring a fugitive, or that she's in love with one.

Hanley was a great narrator for this story because she is such a complicated character. She has much hatred inside of her, and as readers, we do not understand where that hatred comes from until later in the book. So we are told to trust her narrative, even though she drinks too much for a teenager, has attitude coming out the ass, and has so much trust issues. But even with all of that, you cannot help but love her and that is why I think I liked this book so much. As a reader you have to connect with characters, even if you cannot relate to them completely. And that is what happened here. I trusted Haney even though everything in her character told me not to.

When Hanley finds a boy hiding in her garage everything changes. She starts to feel things that have been hidden for years and it is his doing. he is the one that brings out the person Hanley used to be, and I loved that about this story. These two character, Hanley and Nate bring out each other, and it is only once they fall for each other that everything that has been hidden comes to the surface, and neither of them will be the same.

This is a coming of age story that will break your heart into pieces at times. Both Hanley ad Nate have some serious issues, but this book does not dwell on the negative. It shows how much we need companionship and friendship without questions, without judgment. And I loved that about this book. It felt real, and genuine and a must read for all YA contemporary fans.
