Description
With the clock ticking until the virus takes its toll, Rhine is desperate for answers. After enduring Vaughn’s worst, Rhine finds an unlikely ally in his brother, an eccentric inventor named Reed. She takes refuge in his dilapidated house, though the people she left behind refuse to stay in the past. While Gabriel haunts Rhine’s memories, Cecily is determined to be at Rhine’s side, even if Linden’s feelings are still caught between them.

Meanwhile, Rowan’s growing involvement in an underground resistance compels Rhine to reach him before he does something that cannot be undone. But what she discovers along the way has alarming implications for her future—and about the past her parents never had the chance to explain.

In this breathtaking conclusion to Lauren DeStefano’s Chemical Garden trilogy, everything Rhine knows to be true will be irrevocably shattered.

My Thoughts
Where do I start? when I finished Fever last month I really couldn't wait to get my hands on Sever, and thankfully I had received an advanced copy last year so I was all set to continue the Chemical Garden Trilogy. What I did not expect was what was awaiting me.

Sever is the last book in the Chemical Garden Trilogy and I have to say, Lauren was waiting until this book to bombard us with everything. This book was fast paced, thrilling and satisfying. It had everything I wanted and more. What I didn't expect was how much I would fall in love with Linden. Throughout the trilogy I have had mixed feeling about him, mostly because he was a product of his father and didn't even realize it, and because he had no backbone whatsoever. I hated that because Rhine needed him to be on her side, and he refused to see things her way. But in Sever everything changes, we see a different side of Linden and you begin to wonder if Rhine would be better off with him instead of Gabriel. I know, I know I love Gabriel as much as the next person, but it seriously becomes an option.

What I loved most about this book was the revelation at the end. It involved Vaughn, Rhine's brother Rowen, and their parents. Everything seemed plausible and believable and it made you think about everything that has happened over the course of the first three books. It made you stop and serious consider Vaughn's character and whether or not he was telling the truth all along.

Reading Sever was a very question filled experience, but I believe that all my questions were answered in the end. I cried, laughed and sighed with relief throughout the whole thing and I can't see it ending in any other way. Thank you Lauren for writing this series, I am sad to see it end but to be fair, I feel like it was time for Rhine's journey to end, and you did it well :D

  2. Oh my goodness! I am so excited to read this now. I always worry that the end of a series will be a let down, but sounds like this one is a win. And now I'm extra curious as to where everything goes with Linden.
