More Four! Fans of the Divergent series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth will be thrilled by "The Transfer," the first of four new short stories told from Four’s perspective. Each brief story explores the world of the Divergent series through the eyes of the mysterious but charismatic Tobias Eaton, revealing previously unknown facets of his personality, backstory, and relationships.

When i heard that Veronica was putting together a series of Divergent shorts that were from Four's POV, I was extremely excited. I think we all remember when she released the Free Four story last year, and boy did I read that as fast as I could. So in true fangirl fashion, the moment this story was releases I bought and read it. And I will say now that it wasn't the best story ever, but it was a great beginning to a great mini series.

The Transfer follows Four before he became who we know him as. We meet his father through his eyes, and we see the life he lived before he became the ruthless member of Dauntless. This story was a great introduction to Four's earlier life and what I liked most was his voice, and the way he told the story. It was great to see it through his eyes.

Now, here comes the hard part. I love this series and I always will. But I felt like this was a wasted beginning in some ways. We have always known why and how Four became Dauntless and the reasons he switched factions, and I thought that I was just reading the same story twice. I knew everything that was happening because he has told Tris everything in the first two books.

Although i felt like this story was just a retelling of what was said by Four through the first Divergent books, I will say that I cannot wait to read the other stories. This was a set-up for more interesting backstory and I cannot wait to see what Veronica has up her sleeve.
