I am a lover of all things Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I watch the show constantly and I reference it like its nobodies business. So when I heard that Rachel Hawkins was writing a book that was like Buffy meets The Selection I knew I needed to read it, and i am so glad that I did because it was a great read!

This book has everything you need for a great read; it had humor, lots and lots of humor that makes you laugh out loud when you're reading. It also has mystery, and I loved that the mystery of who David was and what she meant to him was a great way to get my interest and keep it throughout the book. This story also has magic and I am a sucker for all things magic, and I loved that although it was not the most prominent thing in the story, it added so much in the end.

As I have said MANY times on this blog, I am a sucker for anything to do with Greek myth and this story had great elements of that. David is an Oracle and once I heard that I had this big geeky smile on my face because I knew where it was going and I knew I was going to love every second of it.

What I think i loved the most about this book were the two main male characters. Ryan and David could not be more opposite of each other, but while I was reading I liked both of these guys a lot. These characters were not horrible people, sure they said mean things sometimes but eventually they would apologize and make up. This was such a  great breath of fresh air because most times when there is a "love triangle" there is usually one that you hate more than the other, but this time it was really hard for me to chose.

Overall this book is very lighthearted and I think that is what separates it from others like it on the shelf. Yes, it deals with some very serious topics but it does it in a way that makes sense for Rachel's characters and does not depress the reader. I seriously cannot wait for the next book in this series because the way things ended in this one? It was a shocker!
