I loved this book from the moment I started reading it. This author had the ability to make me invested in two very different characters on opposite sides of a very serious social bullying situation. I have never had this while reading a book about bullying before. I usually take the side of the bullied, especially when it has to do with sexual assault. But in this story we not only see the effects this has on Grace but also the best friend of the boy who assaulted her; Ian. What I think I liked the most about this stpry was how real it felt. It makes sense for Ian to be wary of a girl who tried to ruin his best friends life, but it also makes sense for him to gradually realize that Grace was right and try to fix it.

I think the relationship between Ian and Grace was the best one I have ever read in a contemporary. These two character were relatble and real on their own, but when you put them together it just made sense. Their struggles together and apart were breathtaking to read because there was so much pain and distrust at the beginning and yet you felt a grain of sympathy from both characters and it was that sympathy that lead to them becoming weird and unconventional friends. Thier relationship was not linear in any sense, there were s many ups and downs that it made the read so enjoyable and so palpitating.

I cant say much about the stpry because it speaks for itself when you read it. You feel for these characters and what they are going through. You feel for Grace because you believe her and you know how she is being treated is wrong. You feel for Ian because you know he is a good guy torn between his friends and what is right. Grace was a such a strong character and a great role model for kids these days. She was pset and hated what others said about her but honestly she handled it like a champ and made the best of a bad situation. Ian was also a great character because he showed that not everyone is blinded by friendship and sometimes you have to do the right thing no matter who gets hurt.

This book was phenomenal in every sense of the word. It should be read by everyone and is a must read for contemporary lovers. Grace and Ian will bury themselves in your hearts and you will remember them long after you finish the book.
