Reboot, the first book in this series, was probably one of my favorite books of 2013, it had everything, adventure, sci-fi elements, mystery and of course a great romance. But what I loved the most was that Amy Tintera did not focus solely on the romance, but on the society surrounding the characters. And I think that is why I am so looking forward to reading this book because I cannot wait to find out what happens and why society is the way it is!

It's a night like any other on board the Icarus. Then, catastrophe strikes: the massive luxury spaceliner is yanked out of hyperspace and plummets into the nearest planet. Lilac LaRoux and Tarver Merendsen survive. And they seem to be alone.

Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. Tarver comes from nothing, a young war hero who learned long ago that girls like Lilac are more trouble than they’re worth. But with only each other to rely on, Lilac and Tarver must work together, making a tortuous journey across the eerie, deserted terrain to seek help.

Then, against all odds, Lilac and Tarver find a strange blessing in the tragedy that has thrown them into each other’s arms. Without the hope of a future together in their own world, they begin to wonder—would they be better off staying here forever?

Everything changes when they uncover the truth behind the chilling whispers that haunt their every step. Lilac and Tarver may find a way off this planet. But they won’t be the same people who landed on it.

I honestly loved this book the moment I saw the cover. I mean COMMON! it is gorgeous and would make and YA fan want to read it ASAP. But then I read the synopsis and knew that I would love this book just as much as I did the cover.

I am Happy to say that this book lived up to EVERY expectation i had going in. It is an epic fantasy adventure that had mystery, danger, adventure and of course, Romance. But I think what I loved the most was that the romance propelled the story forward but was not the center of everything. There were other factors that drew the characters away from their feelings and into the amazing mystery.

Both characters, Lila and Tarver were amazing narrators. They each had their own motivations and their own secrets. Tarver was ashamed of his low status, and Lila was ashamed of the image she always had to keep up, when in reality she was the exact opposite. They felt like real people, people that I could get to know, and i loved that they still felt so real, when this book is very Sci-Fi oriented. That is something i love.

There was only one thing I did not like about this book and that was the "twist" at the end. If you read the book I would love to hear if you agree, and you should probably know what I mean when I say "twist." I just felt like it came out of left field and left me feeling a little disconnected with both Tarver and Lila. I felt like after it happened they were not the same characters from the same story. I dont know why I felt that way, but I did, and i honestly wish that that part had not happened.

Overall this book was amazing. The writing, by both authors was outstanding and I seriously cannot wait to read the sequel that will come out next year.

Auranos has fallen and the three kingdoms—Auranos, Limeros, and Paelsia—are now united as one country called Mytica. But still, magic beckons, and with it the chance to rule not just Mytica, but the world...

When the evil King Gaius announces that a road is to be built into the Forbidden Mountains, formally linking all of Mytica together, he sets off a chain of events that will forever change the face of this land, forcing Cleo the dethroned princess, Magnus the reluctant heir, Lucia the haunted sorceress, and Jonas the desperate rebel to take steps they never could have imagined.

Fantasy has quickly become one of my favorite genres to read, especially in YA, because there is such a spectrum to chose from. Morgan Rhodes was an author I was familiar only because of her pen name; Michelle Rowen. I loved Michelle's writing, but when I saw that she was writing a new series under a new name, I was very intrigued. And I am so glad I started it because Falling Kingdoms, which came out last year, was one of my favorite fantasies of that year. You can read my review here.

Rebel spring opens right where Falling Kingdoms leaves off. And I will admit that I had forgotten most of what happened in the first book because I read it so long ago, but I will tell you this, Morgan Rhodes does a great job of slowly revealing what happened before, without info-dumping. This is something i always look for in sequels because I think it is very important, especially to someone who does remember most of what happened. You don't want to bore them right off the bat.

This second installment was fantastic for many reasons, because it is told from many different perspectives (like Falling Kingdoms) but I thought that this time around there was so much more substance to each character. Especially Magnus, who I seriously hated in the first book, but grew to like in this one. He is such a complicated character and you that in this book. You discover what he has to deal with internally and with the expectations of his heartless father.

Celia was another character who I loved in this novel, not because her and Magnus were so connected in this book, but because she grew so much, and we her having to deal with feelings she never thought she would have to feel. It was great to see the evolution of her relationship with Magnus, because it goes from one spectrum to the other over the coarse of the book, and i loved that.

Rebel Spring doesn't leave anything to be desired as far as death and mystery are concerned. We get plenty of both in this sequel. And seeing how shocked I was with certain deaths in Falling Kingdoms, she does the same with Rebel Spring. I don't think any character is safe from her, and I am scared of what will happened in the next book! But I still cannot wait. This series is filled with romance, mystery and so much betrayal that you will no be able to put it down. I guarantee it.
